Description

First of all I was thrilled by the response of those who commented and favoured my last upload "Alkrington Woods" A friend told me I should have called it Devine intervention or something lol. Thankyou to everyone! This shot, Also taken Sunday morning, Alkrington Woods near to where I live. One full second exposure! with tripod. River Irk, Known in the area as NOT being a clean river and probably been a century or more since it has sustained any fish. Ruined by the Industrial times of Fabric Mills. Although, Mallard ducks are happy to swim here today! Have a great week!.....Alan

Life finds a way, the idea that it contains no fish, was probably spawned by anglers?....I am sure there are fish in it, but time has told the story of the fishless river, looks pretty clean to me, but I know what you mean about industry, and their passion for ruining the invironment, all that said Alan, this is a stunning shot, I like the large bow waves at the top of the image, you have a great week too mate :)

Is this using the new tripod Alan, do you have any problems with the locking tabs? If so a drop of WD40 is good, I had to treat mine last week. Excellent capture, the water has that ghostly look to it, a beautiful sheene. Bravo!!!!!

Amazing it isn't a clean waterway since this shot has a satin and lace quality to it that is so very appealing. I would think it could be brought back with work, though. I remember Lake Erie as a child and being told by my aunt not to put my head in the water...so I sat in the waves collecting brown suds on my skin... :-I
