thanks for all the views and the great feedback! i really appreciate it. just a couple of additional comments: i did this a while ago now, but i'm not much better. my best attempt so far was an Alex Wek morph that still had a lot of issues. i do use photo references, but _very_ loosely and more as inspiration. i don't have fine enough control yet to do anything exact. i've tried to match some sketches as well. that didn't work out _quite_ as i wanted, but it was still rewarding and interesting.
recently, i've mostly worked on materials, light, and occasionally toying with modeling (even more clumsily than my morphing).
if i had to revisit this, i would definitely work on the eyes. but i've got about 10 pictures ready to post, 6 recent ones to postwork, about 4 or more old ones to postwork, and scenes to revisit and sketches to implement. and at least one scene in the making at the moment.
just to warn, the next one isn't nearly so realistic.
same credits as previously.
edited to add: i forgot to mention that i was trying for an pale ivory asian skin tone. very strong epidermal SSS, and low subdermal SSS. i've made some attempts with my adjustments to the VSSb2 default skin shader in this area, but i think i'll revisit the problem soon.
