sweet, whimsical subject, lynell - i love it! i'd like to extend a BIG thank you to you, dear friend, and all your many rr admirers who wished me well during hurricane ike's passage, and thought to keep me and my family in y'all's thoughts and prayers. we made it through fine, although the house sustained roof and water damage. we're still without power - which is forcing me (oh darn!) to seek refuge in a local starbucks for a working outlet and free wifi. i haven't drunk so much coffee in a long time, lol! school and work resume tomorrow... life goes on. oh, a quick anecdote: we've had this 'cajun weather meter' hanging outside our back door for years now - it consists of a wooden plaque with a dowel and a wooden alligator hanging from the dowel by a couple inches of string. on the plaque is painted the set of 'instructions' - i.e., how to interpret the weather meter... it reads: gator dry: sunny gator wet: rainy gator swinging: windy gator gone: hurricane when we returned home, we found that the gator was missing, ripped off by ike's winds - 'gator gone!' ...darned if those cajuns don't know their meteorology after all! ;) have a great day all...! michael
