Reminds me of some of the things I came up with while playing with the 'deformer functions' that Ray Dream Studio used to have. It was great fun and always got my creative side going to start out with any shape, like a spiral for instance, and then apply a deformer to it, put the spiral in a group, and then apply another deformer to it. And on and on making new groups and appying different deformers each time. My favorite was the 'explosion' deformer that would break the shape up into little pieces, but still retain the shape of the spiral too. Your 'habitrails' look like they were fun to create and the red color is really eye catching too.
