Mucha gente tiene terror a las gallinas y gallos… Yo sueño, como muchas veces conté aquí, que me gustaría mucho poder tener mi casa en el campo e irme a vivir con todos mis animales Compraría muchas gallinas y armaría un hermoso gallinero, sentir como me despierta por la mañana y disfrutar, muy lejos de la jungla de cemento en donde vivo. Awesome image Roby, there's a couple of farms down the road from me and in the mornings and evening you have to be careful not to run over their chickens as they cross the road. I've thought several times about stopping and taking some shots as they are colorful. May have to explore that possibility soon. Beautiful work!!!

When I lived in the woods in Texas, I had 4 roosters...I told my husband to go buy me 4 hen chicks and the man came back with roosters! I couldn't kill them so I kept them and named them Bob, Carol, Ted and Alice (after the movie popular about that time...) All died about 6 months later when my landlord "felt sorry for them and let them out of the coop to run, forgetting I had a coon hound dog that loved to chase chickens. Bob survived and it was his wonderful voice that woke me at 2 a.m., 2:30 a.m., 3:00 a.m.... well you get the picture. LOL But I loved that Leghorn and when I moved a year later, I gave him to my mother-in-law so she could enjoy his early morning song. This is a lovely chicken with lush feathers. Fabulous shot.

My grandfather had a chicken coop in his backyard. We would go out to gather eggs when we were at his house and be awakened by the crow of the rooster each morning. When it was empty as it sometimes was we would just play and inspect the roosts. This is a handsome cock.
