Wrinkles are beautiful, but at same time it is not a palatable looking fruit. A very interesting subject and fantastic photo!

really wonderful macro capture !~when i was in grade school we would make apple head dolls out of old dried up apples that would look like old women! with wrinkles this reminded me of that!!

When I make baked apples, they come out looking like this so this is a delicious shot to me! And like Kimariehere, I have made some wonderful folk dolls with dried apple heads. :-)

Hmmmmm, how similar to the convolutions of the brain. The side-lighting really brings out the ridges and folds in this remarkable photo, Kort! Kind of looks like molten caramel candy also.
