Letter 2 My Dearest Chase My gosh Chase, please tell me you are kidding about my dog, horse, fire and Aunt Edna.... I know you have that great sense of humor and think that every day of the year is April Fool's Day but this is a lot to take in all at once, especially with everything else going on. And why are the police asking you to leave? Leave from where Chase? Where are you? Is my house still standing? Please say this is all a joke Chase. Is this just a plea to get me to leave and come back home to you? If so, then please just say so but you know I can't leave Chase, Ava needs me. Who would take care of her if I weren't here? Chase, what happened to my car??? Please never think I have forgotten about you, you're all that I think of, every second of every day you are on my mind. I have been away 2 weeks my love and I am miserable. Chase I must do the dishes out on the porch, there's no running water in the house and no electric... I must rely on the well and the basin out back, besides, it is where Clay wants them done. Most of the time he's out in the fields working when I am out side.... but I do have this feeling when I'm bathing out back that someone is watching me... it really scares me baby. I can't say that it is Clay because I've never seen anyone. I'm too afraid to bring my suspicions up to Ava, she's under so much pressure now with the baby and all. I did write to Mom about it but Mom can be so closed minded at times... she thinks it's all in my imagination. Chase, I really think you need to see your eye doctor again.... your eyes are blue baby, even without the contacts and the glasses. I know, I've gazed in to those eyes thousands of times my love. As for the "57", yes Chase, how could I forget? It's your college football jersey number... the one I always thought you looked so sexy in...broad shouders and nice tight ass. I brought a picture with me of you wearing it and I bet I've kissed it hundreds of times. I had to laugh when you mentioned the theater... yes I remember what Clay was doing... poor Ava was so embarrassed. I felt so bad for her but I swear Chase, Clay has changed. He's moody and so quiet now, he really gives me the creeps. As for my clothes Chase, I'm wearing jeans and halter tops, just as I always do, sometimes a pair of daisy dukes when it's extremely hot out. I am so excited about you coming up for the weekend my love.... I'll be counting the seconds Chase. Maybe while you're here you could watch Clay a little and see if you notice anything different about him. He's just not the same as he was when we were all in college. I think if you could bring me a small radio that works off batteries and bring some extra batteries as well that would be great. At least then I wouldn't feel so cut off from the outside world. And too, you know how much I love my music sweetheart. I don't know why I didn't think to bring those things with me when I left Washington. Ava seems to be doing ok my love... she has her bad days and good. She's still spotting but the doctor said she might do that during the duration of her pregnancy. She of course is very worried that she may lose her baby. We do know it's going to be a boy. She's going to name him after Clay... Clay Michael. Clay does seem very loving toward Ava and is with her when he isn't out in the fields or in town for supplies. I just wish he were different so I wouldn't feel so frightned. I too feel he is watching me Chase, especially when I bathe...sometimes I actually think I hear the movements of someone in the bushes, lurking behind the trees as you said. You are forever in my dreams my love, in my every thought and I miss you so much. You're the most wonderful thing to ever happen to me and I am so wrapped up in what we have, what we share together. You are my life, my everything and I just can't imagine life without you Chase. I don't even want to try. I know you don't want me here sweetheart... I know how you oppose it but what choice did I have? My sister had no one else and Mom was on my back nonstop. I would much rather be there with you but since you're going to come up this weekend, maybe you can talk to Clay.... I don't want to make him mad, Ava really needs me. Besides all that, I really have no proof that Clay or anyone is watching me from the trees. It's just something I feel. Well baby, I should get to bed.... I have a busy day tomorrow. Clay wants me to help out in the garden... vegetables are ready to be picked and brought in. The thought of being near him makes me shiver... oh how I wish I could shake this feeling........
