Description
Female Garden Orb-weaver Spider.
Well I wasn't going to upload this image cause I thought I could do better. Went back out this morning to grab another capture but something (probably a hungry bird) had taken her, web and all. Oh well.....
Species:
Eriophora transmarina (QM)
Habitat:
In a typical orb-shaped web between branches of shrubs; the spider will usually be found in the web in the evening but hiding in a retreat near the top of the web during the daylight hours; the legs are normally extended at night since the spider is feeding but retracted against the body by day in the fashion typical of Eriophora species

some eat their web and rebuild each day at least some here does.I suppose they do not want any other spiders to move in. I have seen other spiders make their webs right next to one and also very small spiders will go out on the web to get almost microscopic bugs nothing wrong with this as it is an excellent macro

A fine shot.I suppose the camouflage helps helps this predator hide from prey and also from becoming prey itself.
