I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

I remember chewing candle wax as a kid, we were not allowed chewing gum so we used to bite a bit of wax off the candle, after a while it softens up and is much like the gum was then. Lol. I wonder if the babboons will be back for some more. Excellent capture Carin, a funny story and thankfully not an expensive one, if they had got into the chalet it could have been very expensive I imagine. Superb work. Bravo!!!!!

I have never thought about having Baboons as neighbors but they probably would be better than drug addicts for sure.I love the countryside

I really like this! Something so simple. The Baboon story really caps it off. Great job. Bill

Well, that's something I don't see much around here...baboons on my deck railing...or baboons anywhere around here for that matter. LOL But then, I do see skunk, coyotes, bobcat, raccoon, the occassional cougar and, up north a bit, bears seem to spend a lot of time inside people's homes. Love the story! Love the shot.

And our worst pests are squirrels and racoons...I think baboons would be a little harder to deal with! It's a beautiful capture, though, the wax drippings are very graceful on the railing, and the hills behind are a wonderful backdrop.

What a lovely image! It stands on its own, even without your wonderful story! Two lovers together in the evening, enjoying the night coming on ... they stand, turn to each other, smile ... one of them blows out the candle on the way in ... fade to black ... It's all right there in your photograph. Beautiful.
