Description
Way back, when I was a little girl, my grandfather farmed outside a little town named Soutpan (Saltpan) - with salt! As kids, we ate the salt directly from the pans - and it was terrible, but fun! This pans belonged to my grandpa - many years ago, and I visited this area 2 weeks ago for the first time in more than 2 decades. Wonder why?? Nowadays the farmers need to have a diggerslisence to scrape salt in this area, which breaks them, because for a diggerslisence, you need to have a black partner. This is ridicules as they are living and farming here for generations. Anyway - just a flashback of my childhooddays...

I learn so much about the ways of different countries here. How interesting your information is. I am not familiar with "farming" salt. I know about mining it from under ground. My cousin did that for over 20 years.
