Description

Hi again everyone :) I'm back with a new piece already! First of all, I'd like the thank you all for welcoming me back like that. That was truly a great and very encouraging experience! This matte painting is based on some photos I took when I was trekking in Colga canyon in Peru last year. It's the world's second deepest canyon (more than a 1000 meters deep!) and provided some great reference photos. I really like the matte paintings where the architecture is totally integrated in the landscape, so I wanted to give it a shot myself. Here it is. I hope you enjoy it :) Any comments/criticism is greatly apprecaited. Thanks, Thomas www.thomaskrahn.com I'll be uploading a short movie tn my website soon, which will show the different working steps of the matte painting. I'll have it up within the next couple of days.

Absolutely beautiful work!! I also wish I was a better painter, there's just a certain satisfaction about working with your hands and using a brush and mixing your paints that you just can't get otherwise. But I also love digital art, because it allows me to create whats in my head faster it's a great tool.

Excellent work, as said above its so well done that its hard to tell the difference between photo and painting. Would very much like to see some of the photos you used as part of this masterpiece to get an idea of how you create your art. Lars
