Description

PREDATOR Charming, Affable, And oh-so-careful, You prowl the fringes Looking for prey. Lion, Wolf, Shark, Hawk, With sheep's clothing Close at hand. Somewhere out there Is just the right game Just the right score Just the right thrill. Are you a stalker, Feeding on fear? Do you crave The death of innocence? Or are attention And admiration Your drug? Predators can be anything. Suave and slick. A down-home "Aw shucks" kind of guy. A just-out-of-reach woman, Somehow miraculously available. A guru, dangling wisdom as bait. A maiden, begging to be rescued. A young man, Sensitive and misunderstood. There's a trade. A giveaway. In order to gain your prey, You have to hold their attention. No matter how easy it becomes, You still have to engage. Therein lies your downfall. Your need makes you weak. You are at the mercy Of those you seek as targets. Exposed, your true colors flying, Your only option might be To leave town. Predator and prey. A symbiotic relationship. One cannot exist Without the other. And I can't help but wonder ... Do you think you're Predator, Or prey? Are you sure? .......... No, I don't think everyone is either a predator or prey. Most people are neither. My mind went off to play on its own today, and this was the result. Sometimes I just think of odd things! .......... Title page painted in Dogwaffle, finished in Photoshop 6.

Really don't know exactly what to say, but very deep thoughts there. Yet I understand from experience just how evil this world really is. Well put!

Yow--this just blows my mind; it's got such a deep, dark feel to it. I've known people like this, and stay as far away from them as I can. You've put into words exactly who they are, and made them every bit as creepy and nasty as they are--a truly breathtaking piece!!

Excellent prose Tara, I would like to think I was prey, because being a man and being refered to as a preditor here in the UK is not good lol

Cool poem, but I think normally you are correct but in some cases, the prey finds out way to late, that they have found an actual predator, excellent work!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Beautiful and engaging...I tend to agree that most people are neither predator nor prey, or maybe in a sense...just a bit of both. At any rate, I love the way this poem winds through concepts, highlighting the interrelationships between the two...one does need the other, and it's rather intriguing to see how strengths and weaknesses always seem to interchange in such relationships. Great work here...and a great image to go with it.
