Description

The Old Man Of Stoor. Couldn't resist this walk..it seems most people who go to Skye head for this feature. As anyone who has been there or indeed the west coast of England or Scotland knows the weather changes very very quickly. We started the walk in brilliant sunshine but as we got up the Stoor these big low clouds came over and nearly blocked out the sun..made for a different type of shot though. Did have coffee and sandwiches just to the right of the water in the foreground..then the sun came out and did some more shots. Liked this one as it was moody. The "Old Man" is the tallest the tall pinnacles of rock you can see which up close is a bit like a pine cone shape in as much as when close to it the base is smaller than the widest part...meaning one of these days it is going to fall over...maybe not for a long time but I wouldn't want to be near it when it does.

This veiw is breathtaking. I love the steps to the sea and on each step is a magical little lake for the traveler to enjoy. So rich and inviting! if this is moody then to me the mood is warmth, peaceful, initmate and secure...love it.
