Description

Last night after putting our dog Thunder out, he discovered a visitor in the backyard---so being the brave and protective soul that he is, he went to investigate and ask for the visitor's credentials and purpose of visit. Although some creatures don't take kindly to him asking, he's got the size and power to back up his bark---he's a 200 pound Fila Brasileiro, so he doesn't let much deter him. This visitor however, doesn't take kindly to being asked much of anything, it being from the Mephitis mephitis family--- and immediately told the dog just what he thought of his threats and loud agressive show. My dog, in plain English, got skunked. AND NOT just once!! Oh no---Thunder, brave and determined soul that he is, just got really pissed about it and went back in for round 2 and was headed for round 3, but my husband broke up the little soiree...and dragged the stinking foul dog into the house. Finally because I told him, NO! You get that dog out of my house and away from my furniture & carpets!! He had to go hose the skunk down with the garden hose because the skunk didn't feel the need to leave. So now my dog has this vendetta thing for skunks, and he's not bright enough to decide discretion is the better part of valor. I've spent the entire night trying to get this really rank odor out of my house. The bitch of it is, I decided NOT to run the mother and baby skunks out from under my porch this summer because they were so tiny and helpless. One of my neighbors called animal control, but I refused to let them set traps since they won't relocate skunks, they destroy them which I find completely unnecessary. So I decided to live and let live---normally my dog doesn't go out the front door much, so it wasn't a problem until last night while I guess the skunk decided to go hunt in the back yard. Now I guess I'll have to evict whomever is living in the space under the porch. THIS PLUS THIS EQUALS IMMEDIATE Dawn Dishwashing Detergent, hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, OPEN bucket--the mixture will explode if closed up--- baby shampoo and 4 baths. The quicker the better---time is definitely of the essence.

Normally I have no problem with making 'passes at girls who wear glasses' however, in this case i think I'll be just a bit more circumspect. Well done! she is very beautiful and sexy

Oh my Laura, what an adventure! I can almost smell it from here! I also got laughing so hard (though I am sure the clean up of the aftermath is far from funny for you) that I nearly forgot to comment on your wonderful picture! Excellent images - as always.

Your story is hysterical! Oh my, what a riot. And what a mess! My poor mom had a similiar thing happen in that a skunk decided to crawl into the back of her dryer to keep warm. My mom turned on the machine and scared the critter who cut loose with his foul defence mechanism. My dad said he could smell that smell all the way up the street when he came home. Took days to get it out of the house. I feel for you. Guess you'll have to air out the place for a while. Now... on to your picture. Love the funky cat glasses and that wonderful framework. Goregous model and outfit. Really cool props. Fun and vibrant colors. Great job on this! (Should your next picture show your lovely lass shooting a skunk?)

Awww... I could hug you for deciding to not call the animal control. It's a pity that the little critters weren't thankfull enough to sit down and talk with the dog but used heavy weapons instead. But well, at least they are animals with brains that are not bigger than walnuts or meatballs ;o)

OH MY!!! That poor, determined dog!! chuckles I feel for you! I really, really do! Best I could do to compare is my German Shepherd/Alaskan Malamute mix, Niko, catching a Cowbird - thankfully he didn't kill it. I made him drop it and it promptly got up, shook off it's being stunned and chewed him out. Poor boy looked so dejected that I had refused his 'gift'. Bless your heart for not calling animal control like so many would have on the little pole cat! And a FANTASTIC image!! That background is just gorgeous...and so is she! Double barrel, no less ;-) A favorite for sure!

Ahhh Zy is gorgeous, even carrying those ultra serious 'eviction notices' she has! I see you found the effective ingredients for de-skunking a dog! Did you get the mix right? :) McG. http://briansplace.ynt1.com/skunk.php
