Description
Having helped Ishtar to awaken Tammuz from his eternal sleep in the Land of No Return Isimud falls to his knees and offers his life in sacrifice.
Lady of Life, I offer myself to you that you need not choose some other being to come to this Land of Eternal Darkness. Although I was under orders to secure your release at all costs, perhaps had I not so readily accepted Ereshkigal's harsh terms for your freedom the price for Tammuz would not have been so steep? Therefore, it is I who should remain here as Ereshkigal's captive for all eternity.
No dear Isimud, it will not be you. Although I love you for freeing me from this putrid place I cannot choose you to remain here. You were bound by your duty to my Grandfather to accept Ereshkigal’s terms and for him you have well-performed this most trying task. You are the most loyal of all the viziers and I will not reward this devotion to duty with your untimely demise. Your role as royal messenger of the God's will not be compromised for my sake; you shall not remain here. No, I must choose somebody else.
Tammuz, had you not been such an arrogant ass to have challenged that mighty boar you would not have been killed and we would not be in such a bind as we are now. But I forgive you my love and now we must hurry and leave this place. Mankind needs its Goddess of Love and its God of Grain. Together we shall breathe life, love and reproduction into the land of the living. But with this gift you and I now carry the burden of mortality; for to give you back your life Ereshkigal demands the certainty of death. This is her due, and bitter as it may be, we must now honour her for it.

I love the composition here, with the characters in a diagonal behind one another, it really adds depth to the picture. I can't believe you (or Ishtar) called Tammuz an arrogant ass!!! It's been my take from the beginning that she should just let him rot down there, but hey, what do I know? Another great installment in your series, well done!

Hey Roxy. I like the composition of the 3 figures front to back with extreme closeup working well. The storyline matches and the whole package is excellent. One small thing. The character at the back of the scene could perhaps be more 'grounded' by adding in some dense shadow under his feet or drooping him down a tadge- otherwise its spot on!) Well done! Dave

Classic cinematic composition here! As usual, your lighting, posing, and expressions are so well done. Tammuz looks exactly as he should, macho but a bit thick, lol. The narrative is also wonderful, and complements the image perfectly. I love how the first think Ishtar does after reviving her bloke is tell him off! Your storytelling skills are as wonderful as your graphic skills, Roxy! This has become quite the absorbing tale!
