Description

Taking the "photo painting" i was doing a week or so ago to the logical extreme i decided to have a go at pencil sketching using my tablet. It has been a looong time since i took a pencil to some paper to sketch something so this was a relearning experience with the beauty of digital erasers ;) Came out nicely i think :) First posting in the 2D gallery i believe. Any comments would be welcome, especially ones where people could offer advice on how to best go about things. Enjoy! Rich PS - quick note on method - this is a sketch from scratch. Whilst a reference photo was used, every part of the image was created by a brush stroke. (down to the black blob for the dress ;))

I am SOOO jealous of your skills its not even funny. Please give them to me? haha No but really, this is an amazing drawing. It is so realistic it looks like you took a photo of a model and turned it into a drawing. Wonderful. Perfect. THIS is real art.

This is so awesome...!!! I love everything about it. The eyes are crisp and bright... the hair is soft and flowing... the shading is without a doubt first rate! All the tonal qualities are simply perfect! Thank you very much for sharing!

nice job.. I think you should move into mixed media works when you feel like it, combining your photos with sketches and layers, reckon you'd be really good at it.. this tablet thing sounds cool are they pricey? quite like my mouse but don't think I could do something like this with it!

Wow I am very impressed! I though it a photo of a model (a lovely model) and postworked in photoshop to look like a pencil drawing, But no it is ALL your own pencil and brushwork Fantastic !

I used to draw (back in the dark ages..) , had I been able to make mine look half as good as this one I think i would not have given it up.. Hats off to you!
