Description

Nikon 7900 pocket camera, hand-held image. This is another of species of Leafhopper that I have managed to capture this season. I was fascinated by the intricate design on its back. It seems much too ‘designed’ than it should be, lol. Thanks to those who take the time to comment. On a side note, I have managed to get a product approved by RR for sale in its Marketplace. It is a 15 month (Oct ’08 thru Dec ’09) digital calendar featuring 15 images of various Dragonflies and Damselflies. The calendar can be edited with any image editing program. This means you can add notes and appointments to it just as though it were a printed calendar. More info is available in the ‘read me file’ that is included in the promotional material for the product. The cost is $6. I have submitted 2 other calendars and am awaiting approval for those. One features ‘Caterpillars’ and the other one features various ‘critters’. If interest is high enough, I will feature other critters on some additional ones. Lee

Gorgeous image, full of fantastic detail. I have to say that I particularly love the yellow design on this critter's carapace...evidently a natural fashion statement, and a good one at that!

I'll have to check those out when I'm done in the gallery. I'm grinning! Great relief to see these hit the Markeplace. As for this bug...well...say sharpshooter and us Californian's get nervous. Its a sharpshooter that threatened our vinyards a couple years back! Never saw one then but I do find this one very 1940ish with its polka dot full length coat on. :-)

Great news about the calendars!!! What an amazing name for an insect! It is certainly a sharp dresser, that outfit would do a Cockney barrow boy proud.

I've ordered my calendar Lee, it looks nice in the Market place, just waiting for delivery now. This chap looks a bit dapper for a bug, I like the bright yellow pattern just prior to the head, looks sort of heraldic in design. A bug you might find in Queen Victoria's garden, not a commoner thats for sure. Excellent capture and presentation. Bravo!!!!!
