Description

Vue6Infinite. Got a problem with the water: there is a line on the water, somewhat clear horizontal that I can't put away! I tried to change most of the settings on transparency, reflexion, color, bump, but it 's still there. Does anyone get a solution. Thanks for your help, if ever. Jean-Marie

Very nice place and very nice terrain work. I like those clouds a lot. Regarding that water problem, I've seen that happen with too much highlight. Did you try to reduce it?

I am not at all familiar with the program that you are working from, but, as a 2D artist, I would say the problem lies within the color depth, the water near the shoreline at the farthest distance would be quite a bit darker (because of the shadow cast by your mountains) and then going out lighter to the "open" water, your waterline is showing the opposite, it is light by the mountain edges and gets darker farther away from the shore. The values, would be as dark or almost as dark as the darkest value in your treeline/mountain. And just another observation, you have a "clear horizontal" line there mostly because it is a straight horizontal line, your shore has no variation, no inlet or jutting shoreline, that sort of adds to that linear quality that you are detecting with your eye that makes it look straight, because it is... with that aside, I really like this, especially the foreground, with the dramatic shadows and almost Serengeti-like terrain. Very cool, love the clouds too. I like the idea, that your sun, isn't in the picture, but rather an emergent presence, very well done and thought out there.. =)

Wow, this is absolutely beautiful. Wouldn't have seen your "line problem" unless you pointed at it. Could it be fog or haze instead of the water? Just a guess and probably not the best one ... :o) Anyways: superb work!

Great scene and intersting hill textures .... the problem with the water I didn´t see so far , in your pic I don´t see a disturbance of the impression ....

The line is probably showing more because of the fog/haze settings yhou have, making it appear very light near the background terrains. Personally, I'd fix it in postwork but that's just me - I know some like to get perfection from the Vue render. Lovely image anyway - and I do love the contours of the foreground terrain

I like this one. The foreground is beautifully done. I rarely work with water scenes because they are difficult for me. I too, often go to postwork with water scenes.

Fantastic terrain and clouds! Maybe add a light mist to the water, which may blur the shoreline a little...
