Description

For those who were wondering where yesterday's old telegraph office was.... it is in the far corner of the red brick building behind the post office sign. If you zoom in, you can just see the chairs hanging on the stone wall. Actually, it's part of a several acre Texas history exhibit at the Fort Worth zoo. I have this in sepia on my site, as some suggested, but wanted to try an hdr treatment ths time. Thanks so much for your views, faves, and kind comments. It means a lot to me!

This is a gorgeous capture! Beautifully seen and presented...it evokes quite a lot of emotion as well, especially with me, since I've been immersed in living history for the past couple of years. This picture, like the one before it, is fantastic, and for me, bittersweet in a way. So much of the past has been thrown away, torn down, or built over...but this picture, and it's companion, are great reminders of historical continuity and context. Great work!

Glad to see the entire scene today. I've also visited a similar site on the south side of Dallas. Looking at your full-size view, the only things that reminds me that this is today...are all the hand railings for hanging onto while climbing steps. Love your treatment of the sky. Bill

A magical image! It certainly holds that "historic" mood and atmosphere; as if there is more to the image than meets the eye....... the sky is most beautiful..... I'd love to walk about this little place, that looks so "isolated", yet very cozy, welcoming and warm!

Really outstanding! The "treatment" was successful beyond words. I half expect to see some old-time cowboy step out onto main street at any moment.

A love a good HDR. One day I might actually learn how to do these! I've got the trial version of Photomatix...is there anything better or easier to use?

I have to agree with bmac52, the only thing that looks out of place is the hand rails, which are a there for disabled access I guess, same with the ramp in front of the Post Office. Your HDR treatment worked a treat Maria, a fantastic tonal range, I haven't got to grips with it yet. Superb work, and top marks to the Fort Worth Zoo for it's creation. Bravo!!!!!
