This is brilliant work! I love the concept. It reminds me of going to an antique show where there are rows and rows of cases of small relics from the past and your eyes can't grasp all the details. One could stare at this for hours and never see it all. Masterful design and colors.

Mandi, this is an endlessly fascinating collage. And it really is a collage, a compilation of very distinct images collated together. You re-use images, but you cast them in slightly different ways so that they morph a bit with each incarnation. And the images themselves are gritty science-text types of things, many of them looking old. They look like etchings & old cross-hatches of gears & machines culled from 19th C. texts & plates. And they're all packed into a display, like a display box for other gears & cross section, a very private affair. The detail is unflagging too—one of the reason it's compelling—and you've morphed the sections in some spots so they seem to be undulating in a dream (or a bad heat wave!); and you have anatomical cross-sections, some of which are joined with the mechanical parts quite naturally. A true collage, a private potpourri displayed for all the gears and machines in the neighborhood, and it shines too. I love this.

You've put collecting string to shame. I agree: how intricate. One could go in a so many directions with this image, thoughtful and astheticly fantastic. I like how some images blend into others.

Ew... is that a Compulsion Engine? Great as always, even if I can't be sure that I "get" your work (so mysteriously meaningful).
