Description
Proxy Falls, about 70 miles east of Eugene, Oregon, is one of Oregon's most photographed waterfalls. The waterfallsnorthwest site says:
"Anybody who as had a calendar of waterfalls has undoubtedly seen pictures of this waterfall. Fed by springs on the shoulder of North Sister, Proxy Creek breaks over a wall of columnar basalt liberally marinated in mosses and veils about 150 feet in two streams."
I was very happy to catch this in really good light; I've been there when there was so much sunlight on it that it was impossible to shoot a meaningful photograph.

That is just stunning. I must admit, though, that the name has me a bit baffled. Are people mailing in little bits of water with ballots? Is the water coming from a server that forwarded it from another server? Do people send water in under a secret, hidden identity? Is the water paranoid, secretive, obsessive ... ??? Well ... you see my problem. Did I remember to tell you how much I like this photograph?

I go out risking life and limb taking photos so all of you can view these waterfalls by proxy. It's only fitting that one of them should be named "Proxy." LOL
