Description

Today I said farewell to 'Champion(South African) 'Sylvalait's Rebel With A Cause', James, He would have turned 15 on the 25th Nov. but alas that was not to be. He was sent to the Rainbow Bridge this evening at 6.00. I will be taking him for cremation tomorrow. This is not a very good photo but it is my tribute to the best Italian Greyhound I ever bred. His memory will linger on in his grandchildren. THE RAINBOW BRIDGE Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... Author unknown...

I come from a dog breeding family and I know the legend of the Rainbow Bridge since long ago but every time I read it again or even think about it I'm crying. So sorry that you lost your champion, your pet, your friend and I do hope the legend is true. Hugs, Doro

I am sadden by your loss. I never know quite what to say at times like this. What really can be said. The loss is real, the emptiness, that big hole, left behind is there. No amount of words can fill it, whether we look on the good that may be or the bad that may come of it, the fact is we must need grieve or else the loss is unbearable. Love it like that. Beautiful dedication.

I understand your loss, our family lost "Little lord Foxalot" (foxy} a few short years ago, He was a purebred miniature Pomerainian He lived to be 19 and a half years, That was a very long time for him, but seemed a short time to us, He rests in the Napa, California pet cemetary. Of course you will never forget, but time heals. Take care. [~__~] Cheers, Roger
