Description

I got photos of these tree growing out of the water too. But this is the normal water level in this lake. it is not flooded. The boat you see is his own boat. you can have motot boats there in the lake but the park just rent boats with no motors lol. I wish i had that boat or one like it. I be out on the water ways takeing photos intill my camera breaks for takeing too many[ they say a camera is good for 50,000 to 60,000 shots. It be time to get a new one then anyway. I figure it be five years or so to take that many shots. I meet people who do not take many photos because of this limit. I wonder about how they think? Anyway I at the end of the board walk and wawadave ask for a view from the end of the walk. check out his gallery you will not be disappointed. Plus I posted this for a lot of people who is interested in theses trees growing out the water like this. They do grow and the water is deep. I been by many of them and even have to push the boat off so we will not hit the tree head on.[dont ask lol] dont paint cypress wood, if you do look the paint recipe up on the net. I painted some years ago and it roited away in two years. Then I meet some one who tell me some one painted some old cypress houses at this planetion over by Baton Rouge and they all roited away cause $1,000,000 of damage. There is a way to paint cypress wood and you need to look it up on the net by typeing in "painting cypress" I hate to paint or stan this lovely wood . Just leave it natural and it will not roit for a long time[like after you dead and gone] lol chase a lot of rabbits today. I did find my camera. thanks for looking and comments and votes iso is 160 lens zoomed out to 130 f-stop is 5.6 exposure time is 1/400

Great and interesting shot, Jock. Cool and beautiful park you are portraying. It is fascinating that the trees can grown in water. Interesting reading too.. with a nice humoristic touch.+5

I am in two minds Jocko, a motor boat is nice and easy, a rowing boat will keep you fit, a motor could snag on tree roots, a row boat would not. I think a row boat for me, until I get to know the water, then a motor boat. Excellent capture, and like Diane says, I like it when you go chasing rabbits, great narrative. Bravo!!!!!

one needs to use transparent stains in order for the wood not to rot, at least that is what I used and had no complaints beautiful capture Jock

"camera is good for 50,000 to 60,000 shots". I got between40-60,000 pictures on two cameras one died out right. the other that got more sorrta works when it wants. but thats life. that fancy camera you have might be better quality and last longer yet. thank you for that picture jock!!

It is interesting to see how these cypress trees grow.It is also interesting to learn about not painting the wood. They must have a high acid content or something.A fine shot of this marvelous view.

Nice place and it's strange to see these trees with their foot bathing in water in normal condition. Nice documentary picture.
