Thanks Folks :o) Sharing on night and Photoshop methods: 3 year old Fujifilm FinePix S7000 (very nice low-priced almost-pro digital camera). Tripod + cable release + careful for 5 secs (f5.6?). RAW image at ISO 200 sensitivity. Sensor has problems in very low light: Lots of little single pixel "dots" (sensor pixels that couldn't cope) to remove with Photoshop rubberstamp. But first, removed overall digital noise in "NeatImage". Dropped very darkest areas to full black with Photoshop dynamic range curve. (No need for level adjust or color correction, camera very good there). Exaggerated color with Photoshop saturation boost. Used Photoshop Transform "Skew" to get rid of geometric distortion from shooting up at building. Cropped a glaring light from left and a bit more of the tree limbs at top.

You've taken a very ordinary scene and given it life and mood and depth. Awesome work!

I'm new to your gallery, and this shot is wonderful, jc. You've got 3 blaring lights, each in a different universe, and each illuminating unique textures, walls & spaces. A nighttime "side view" in a town or city can be very dull to the passerby; but to the artist it blasts with life. You've caught that, the "miracle & mystery of the street," it's peculiar textures, its lonely spots of human existence, and the sense of vastness that even a small wall or walkway can show, if captured the right way. A beautiful shot. And I like that you allowed a long dark foreground to 'be'. You didn't take it out, but let it place us in the mystery of the night...
