Description

After nearly 50 miles of driving through empty land this was the first human habitation I came to. Scenic, but not many services available. I am glad I had enough gas to move on. This picture was taken on 22 September 2008. Thank you for viewing and commenting on my recent uploads and a special 'Thank you' to those that may have added some of these to their favorites, Sig...

Imagine being a pioneer...a hot, tired traveler and you come upon this spot... What a welcomed sight.

Yet another great vista Sig, and another image with excellent depth to it, I like the road vanishing in the distance, yet to be travelled. Have to agree with PJ, image being in a covered wagon, having travelled through the wilderness to come across this Oasis, what a welcome sight it must have been. Superb capture. Bravo!!!!!

All the pale, dry colors of the brush intrigue me. The trees and habitation are more significant to someone going on and just stopping for supplies.

Definitely scenic - and a wonderful shot! The time I spent in that area I was just fascinated (and almost even frightened) at the ruggedness, the emptiness, the miles and miles of dry land. Must have been quite an adventure for the first pioneers!
