Or did the leaves kill the tree? Sometimes vines will do that...it could be kudzu, a notorious spreading pest in the south...or ivy, a pest in other places. Whatever, it does have its own appeal! Think of it as a frame for the shape of the bare branches, which you wouldn't be able to see if they were covered with leaves! At any rate, nice capture!
