Description
Monarch butterfly, Danaus plexippus (Linnaeus) (Lepidoptera: Danaidae), adult
Description: Adult butterflies are orange with black wing veins and bodies. Caterpillars are 2-3/4 inches long fully grown, with a pair of black antennae-like appendages (filaments) at either end of the body (2nd thoracic segment, 8th abdominal segment). The body is ringed with black, yellow and white stripes. The chrysalis is smooth and light green or blue with gold markings
A skipper, (Lepidoptera: Hesperiidae)
Description: Young caterpillars are greenish-white with an oversized black head. Mature larvae are smooth, olive green, tapered toward the back end and have a black head. The body is constricted just behind the head, making larvae appear as if they had a neck. Two or three chalky white spots occur on the underside between the back legs. The male butterfly is orange-brown with a single large black spot on each forewing whereas the female is dark brown with a few silver and orange spots on the forewings. The wingspan is about 1 inch.
Cotton square borer or gray hairstreak, Strymon melinus HĂƒï¿½Ă¯Â¿Â½Ăƒï¿½Ă‚Â¼bner (Lepidoptera: Lycaenidae)
Blues are small butterflies, usually with upper wing surfaces colored blue to gray-brown and undersides marked with dark spots. One of the smallest butterflies is the pygmy blue, Brevidium exilis (Boisduval), with a wingspan of 1/2 to 3/4 inch. Caterpillars feed on white pigweed, Chenopodium album, and some other plants

I went to my favorite park and in a new garden was loaded with butterflies and bees. I had a hard time even seeing the little blue as it was drinking from dew on grass.I almost got 3 Monarchs at the same time, but one flew

If a Monarch began working out near me I would look. I would not be concerned about learning inter-species courtship rituals.
