Description

Schonee gave me her incredible Dark Night Backgrounds set for my Goddess series and I promised that I would try to do something magical with them. I hope that I have succeeded with my portrait of the Greek Goddess Athena. Thank you so much dear friend. Lots of postwork in PSP to get the fire affects. The armor and helmet were all converted to an historically authentic bronze with gold details in the materials room using Tabala's wonderful Magical Metals package here at RMP. Athena, Greek Goddess of War and guardian of Greek cities, particularly Athens. Protector of heroes and patroness of the arts, notably architects, sculptors and weavers. Born fully armed from the head of her father Zeus, symbolizing both intelligence and bravery in battle. Athena is often portrayed as a young to middle age woman bearing a trident and wearing long flowing robes. To me this makes little sense for her primary role as a Goddess of War, so I have portrayed her as a warrior that any army of brave men would follow into battle. Nice representation of Athena. I like her expression although, with the helmet and the big smile, her face ends up bearing a certain resemblance to the skull in the center of the piece :) Your textures look really good and I love the warm color palette you've chosen. Overall, I think you have achieved your aim and done justice to the background in creating a magical picture. Great job!
