Description

This is not an original thought with me. It is a trucking industry phrase. Now as I am six weeks from my retirement date it's a good summary. Aiko in Daria dress and morphs reaches to the lanyard for the air horn to sound a blast to let everyone in the yard know she's about to move. This prop now has the engine and tilt feature I just built. The render is in Poser 7 and has all the metallic and paint reflections and shadows of Firefly raytrace. We are back to where we thought we were with the downloaded trucks. A straight forward use with no limits on figure work. I'm not sure everyone understood that the trailers and dolly are separate poseable props. You can bend the rig any way you want but I did not parent the trailers to the tractor and set an origin as a hinge point for beginners. That would have made the trailers permanently hooked up and caused conflict when you wanted to park the trailers with their dolly wheels down and park the dolly with it's yoke tongue on the ground away from the tractor. The doors are parented and origins set so they open at hinge points and the front wheels of the tractor can turn. There are no vent windows. The tractor door windows cannot go up and down. It is a matter of importing more parts for each feature you wish to make poseable in Poser. This is a pretty good collection of parts and a sizeable assemby activity in Poser as is. One of the potential features I have found to be clumsey over the years is rotating the wheels as the vehicles move in traction with the ground. This is basic stuff for animation or even motion blur in stills. My eyes roll when I describe what happens with airplane propellors on a rolling pitching yawing vehicle but that is not an issue with this scene. I hope you had fun with these antique rigs which have 18 wheels just like modern big rigs but in different sets of axles and van sections. Count 'em!

I dunno if I've ever seen a truck driver dressed to the nines before. But there's always a first. Six weeks will go by at light speed. Nicely done Freightliner to say the least. Don't forget to to obtain PUC permits.

You've crafted out a nice scene here. It all looks so natural, even the driver looks comfortable driving this big rig!
