Description

Hi everyone, Here is a look at the roadside view as you leave Conway, New Hampshire on Route 16. I thought some may enjoy this. The photo is only sized to work here, in my point of view the colors are a bit on the dull side compared to being there. I just don't think this fugi captures the true color well. I took the same photo with my brother's new kodak and the colors were amazing. Any tips on getting better color directly off the camera? I know I can put the image in photoshop and enhance the colors there....not really interested in doing that, I only want to know if there is a trick to capture true color using the camera directly. Any comment will be appreciated, help learning will be cherrished. Thanks for looking -GB-

Awesome colors. I just play with the settings, use aperture priority and try dropping the exposure by .5 increments until it right. It's not far off. Beautiful work.

Great photo. My Nikon takes awesome vibrant color, and then I have to tone my images back in Photoshop, to about where this one is, in order to get into the gamut for printing on the HP Indigo 5000 book printer. Is it possible that Fuji understands this and is selling an easier solution for the customer, at least for print? Just two cents on a guess.

One of the first things I learned abotu digital photography when I was beginning to read about the concept and the outcome of this "invention" was that it is a common mistake for photographers to enhance natural color beyond normal in order to make a shot vibrant - thus losing the natural appearance. Once the photog begins to make their shots look more "natural" with enhancements, it is more and more difficult to accept what truly is natural. I like the colors in this and only would think about what you actually saw compared to what you wanted to see. Look at the greens in this shot - they look just right to me. One color is correct and the others aren't right? Perhaps but I stand by saying this looks very natural and the way it should be for a natural appearance all around. As Artlan59 says, you can try aperature and exposure settings to enhance this if you want more from it. That's what I try to do as well.

From my limited experience as a photographer, I do notice that there are wide differences with colors with brand names with cameras. Time of day has much to do with this also. A warm early or late sun hitting these would greatly enhance this image. But this is still a very nice image, as is... and I know that you do not like postworking an image, but you will find that hitting "auto contrast" on a editing program would probably bring this image very close to what you saw live...

a fine shot...and hmm...it might be not only the camera but also the calibration of the screen, cause one thing I noticed, is my shots look completely differen on the screen my father has compared to mine
