Description

"Hi Dad, whatcha' doin?" "Just relaxing and making another picture." "Can I help?" "Sure, what would you like to do?" "How 'bout a picture of an alien?" "Okay, I think I've got one of those... like that?" "Yeah, that's cool. Now he needs a space ship!" "Hmm, let me look through the library... here's one." "Okay, put it behind him... and how 'bout another ship, but only crashed!" "Alright... this one?" "No, thats a building, but you can put it in, too. What about... that one! That looks cool!" "Okay, I'll put it... here." "Nice... now, you need, like, flames and stuff." "Alright, I'm gonna have to paint that in.... ... like that?" "Yeeeah! That looks cool!" "Thanks. What else?" "Now you need some smoke from the fire." "Alright.... how's that?" "Awesome!" "Can you think of anything else?" "Well... the fire would make reflections and light, right?" "Yeah..." "So put some light on the buildings and stuff." "Okay... would you like to do some?" "Sure!" "Okay, you can use this 'dodge tool'." "Why do they call it that?" "I don't really know... we'll have to Google it later." "Alright... how's that look?" "Very good, son." "Now sign it!" "Okay, but you've got to sign it, too. It's more your work than mine." "Alright, Dad. That looks pretty good, huh?" "Son... I think it's about the best picture I've ever seen." For my son Chris (13), from a very proud Poppa. Tom Seaview123

What an enjoyable conversation. I can relate totally w/my 10 year old daughter. No kidding - when I want an honest and artistic opinion, I go to her showing options and she helps pick (and gives me a 2 hour lecture why!). You taking time w/your son is the real work of art Tom. That's the magic he'll remember champ! Good for you and 5+++.
