Description

These two lads were part of a festival dedicated to Martial Arts organised by the association in which I have been practising , for my part, Tai Chi Chuan, for nearly four years now. We were all gathered last Sunday in a vast gym hall to promote various martial arts, such as Kobudo, Kyudo, Budo Tai Jutsu, Ninjutsu , Tai Chi and Chi Qong...

Here, the guys are wearing authentic and traditional costumes of Japan's Muromachi warriors (The Muromachi period , also known as the Muromachi era, is a division of Japanese history running from approximately 1336 to 1573.). They performed a series of kata ( a Japanese word describing detailed choreographed patterns of movements with weapons practiced either solo or in pairs) belonging to the traditional martial art named Kobudo, a Japanese term that can be translated as "old martial way" ...

Many many thanks for your comments on my last image taken in Iceland, two months ago. Have a nice week everyone !

This armor has always fascinated me; it doesn't look like it would be much protection, but it must have worked, eh? Great shot! And cool title, it reminds me of the lyrics from a Genesis song of the 1970s "Supper's Ready"; sorry, my own little peculiarity... :)
