Description
This beautiful headland offers panoramic views from St. Aubins to St. Helier and beyond to Greve d'Azette, and then sweeping around way out to sea and across to Portelet bay in the west. There are commanding views, it's hardly surprising that this headland was heavily fortified by the Germans during their occupation of my island. A large command bunker is secreted below ground, it is easy to walk to down the headland if you are mobile, it is open on some days during the summer months.
All shipping coming from the UK mainland has to pass this area which can be extremely treacherous at times. Noirmont is a lovely place to visit and for walks.
Full view shows a great more detail, I have left this fairly big so that you can see the surrounding area in more detail, including the waves.

My brother used to tell me if ever I visited Jersey, that a must see was the german installations dotted about the island, especially the underground hospital. He has hundreds of photographs of the island that he took in his twelve year stay there, he brought some up for me to scan for him a couple of weeks back. They show shim and some of his friends diving off a large barrel from one of the guns into the sea. I find this image very interesting Susan, I have never seen a photo of this in his albumns that he has. The next time he comes to visit I will show him. Excellent capture. Bravo!!!!!
