Description

I took a day off work today and spent the day with Dad we went to the Army Medical Services Museum. Very interesting, but I was told off for using my flash gun.

"Blood On the Tracks" is that an album or a group? This came out very vivid.

I know how you feel David, qmost of the museums won't allow flash photography any more they say it damages the items on show. The sun will bleach things over time in a window, so they try and keep the displays in dim lighting, the flash is like twelve months sun all in one go, something like that anyhow. They say if everybody went in using flash the display items would be worthless after a couple of years. I had a lecture on it once by some know it all curator. You will just have to use your monopod and have grainy images. This is an excellent capture, I wonder how many times a day this chap had to get covered in ketchup? #;0) Pretty good that they do displays like this, I wouldn't mind visiting this place myself, I go for this kind of stuff. Superb work. Bravo!!!!!

Good shot. And yup, I too have experienced the look of horror on museum staffers faces when they see you have a camera. Consequently, I spent an hour last week in our local Fort Leavenworth Museum working with a variety of priority (A and S) and manual settings to figure out my camera in available, low light situations. Tried some "Exposure Bracketing" and this will work quite well when I get the right software to blend the three images into one. Always something new... Bill

I've never been to a place like this. Most of the history museums I've been to only have dummies with period clothing, display cases of endless documents and trinkets and large free-dangling posters.

I'm just amazed at the detail of these dummies (sorry can't spell manaquins ? ) Great couple of images from an unusual Museum I didn't know existed.
