Description

It resembled a ring in the sky. Several hundred years ago of that, the astronomers noticed a nebula equipped with a rather unusual form. Now recorded under the references of M57 or NGC 6720, gas nebulosity gained the name of Nebula of the Ring near the general public. One knows now that it is about a planetary nebula, a gas cloud formed in the very last stages of existence of a star similar to the Sun. Cash among the planetary nebulas most brilliant of the sky, one can see the Nebula of the Ring with a small telescope directed on the constellation of the Quadrant. The Nebula of the Ring is at some 4.000 light-years of us and measures approximately 500 times the diameter of our solar system. In this recent image taken by the Hubble space telescope, of the filaments of dust and the globules are visible with good distance from central star. That makes it possible to think that the Nebula of the Ring is actually cylindrical than spherical. source http://www.cidehom.com/apod.php?_date=060625

This is very lovely, but I probably would have zoomed further in on the intricate and beautiful centerpiece on this. Excellent work overall otherwise. Hugs, Bunny
