There are several people on my block and around close that have Pits. They walk them on leashes, right past other people and children, other dogs and cats as well. The Pits never make any attempt to attack anyone or anything and are well behaved. It's not the breed, it's the owner. If you don't use proper training or if you mistreat one, it can become a killer like any breed or dog will. That is a lvely doggie you've shown here. :)

I would agree with BluEcho however..... Great capture of I'm sure is a well mannered and well behaved dog.

I couldn't agree more; my son has a pit and I take care of him several months during the year when he's working. This dog is the smartest, sweetest, BEST dog I've ever had. You should watch him with my 4 year old neighbor!! Dogs aren't born mean, they're made that way by the idiots who raise them!! Those are the people who should be legislated out of existence!!

I also agree with BluEcho, it's not the breed. You can train any dog to be vicious and with the same amount of time you can also have it one of the mildest dogs around.

I have several of them and just had a litter of 10 more. I have raised them for 28 1/2 years and the only incident I had was two Dobies jumping on my only show quality female "Akeeba". They tore her up bad, but I still have her and she is a gorgeous and very sweet pup. They need to bury people like Michael Vick and the others that fight them. "Long Live Pit Bulls" the Best American dog breed ever!!!
