Description

This was taken from the inside of my first Desert Ruins post, which was photographed from a distance. After a good walk in the hot desert sun, this shelter offered little relief since the roof had been long gone. But whatever it was, the walls were made extremely well utilizing the indigenous red rocks of the area. I can only try to imagine how difficult it must have been to construct. Once again, the best I can pinpoint this is it's somewhere out in the wild lands of the Arizona desert. To me, it seemed to be more like exploring another planet, which tells me I still have a lot more to explore right here. So with keeping that in mind, this week Lil Sizzler and I are heading for the autumn sights of the Great Smoky Mountains. It's been a long time since I've experienced the fall there, and she's only visited before in the spring. So hopefully next week we'll both have some exciting new shots to share! Thanks much! marshall
