I am a developing artist working on improving my abilities to create beautiful digital landscape compositions. Without the help and suggestions of the many fellow artists in this community, it would be a long time before I reach the next level.
BIO
I am a retired procurement professional who has long had an interest in photography and painting; and, lately in computers and photorealistic natural landscapes. I hope to become more proficient and perfect my abilities to produce acceptable work. My experience in art started at a very early age when I would spend many hours sketching and painting. I had instruction at The Art Institute in Chicago, Illinois. I did some freelance work for Flying Models, Model Airplane News and Top Flite Models creating plans and illustrative construction sequences for magazines and kit models. I had spent more than 20 years designing, building and flying radio controlled model airplanes...a very rewarding hobby for me. During the 1970s, I spent 11 years in the hobby of "bonsai"; the Japanese art of miniature trees. In my first 7 tree entry in a contest, all 7 trees were awarded ribbons in various categories. Japanese landscaping became a passion for me where I completed a 3 year project creating a Japanese landscape around my home in Oak Forest, Illinois. I also did this work for several other people in our community. In 1987 I moved to Phoenix, Arizona where I currently make my home. The love of the American southwest and all its beauty is where I wanted to spend the rest of my life. Now that we have computers, digital cameras; and, Terragen; I'll have enough to do for a long, long time.

Excellent Robert. The cliff is of photo quality. Love the receding water in the river bed. You really did a great job with the planet emplacements. The arch is a nice touch. Great detail and POV.

An accomplished render with refined detail, Bob. Read about the dramatic slow down in rendering you experienced when it got to the water. Makes one think again about fully committing to TG2.
criss
Yes, awesome terrain, love the arch!

Top-notch in realism! Those mini-outcrops are quite the thing! Your hand at TG2 is improving at every turn. Wish I had the time to sit & try it more often than I do.

Wowsers Bob... love this terrain, the pov gives one a feeling that they are walking along a path to that arch and where will the arch take them. Outstanding work all around, lighting surfacing it's perfect.

agree with prutz...love the displacements also!!
AndyWelder
Agree with Rich, however like to add the distribution of the shrubs is a bit artificial, normally there would be more clumping.
