Description

La gravure par sablage, c'est la gravure d'une surface vitrée à l'aide d'un jet sous pression d'un type particulier de sable mélangé avec du graphite. Les machines que l'on emploie pour ce genre de travail sont dotées de buses de différentes tailles permettant de modifier la puissance et le diamètre du jet et donc l'effet obtenu qui donnera une gravure plus ou moins fine. Ce détail est important pour exécuter des nuances dans la gravure. Ainsi gravée, la surface devient opaque mais elle peut retrouver sa transparence d'origine si on la met en contact avec du liquide. Cette particularité permet de créer et de jouer sur les effets lorsque l'on peint ensuite avec des couleurs transparentes On utilise cette technique surtout dans l'ameublement pour décorer des portes de meubles, les vitres de portes ou fenêtres.
