it invalidates Roddenberrys' 'canon rules', but hey, it looks neat anyways...;) great work.

I came across an interview with Karen Dick recently, Franz Joseph's daughter, and sent her an email. Her interview about her father and the Technical Manual and his trials/encounters with Gene Roddenberry explains a lot about why it was canon for awhile and then got de-canonized. I for one support the canon inclusion of the Starfleet Technical Manual designs into Star Trek. We've seen Saladin on screen, on bridge consoles in Star Trek 2. We've heard the scouts referenced in voice communications in Star Trek: The Motion Picture. Saladin class has been in several fan films that have original cast members in them that so blur the line as to make it non-existent. And best case of all, in ST:TNG episode "Parallels" we learn that there are infinite universes, with every imaginable possibility. Good enough for me. I pointed her to our mutual projects. Here's a link to her interview for everyone to read: http://www.trekplace.com/franzjoseph.html
