"Keeper of The Fire" (for all my friends) by Heathcroft

Anyway, I had better let Count Tyrannus tell you about it in his 50th Castle Chronicle - I can hear him scratching at the door...
" My Children, how I have missed you all, your shining eyes, your eager demeanour. My artist slave was pretending to be inconvenienced with some story about his arm not functioning. If he gives me any more trouble I will send him for Correction Therapy... then, maybe not, for some reason the slaves seem to enjoy it. Hmmm, I will think of something more suitable..
I digress. Due to the inconvenience, I had to stay awake way past the recent full moon and the Castle slaves know how much this tires me these days. I shed a further digit or two clawing my way out of my oaken coffin this month as Seaglemus, my manservant, did not come to my aid.
As the rats fought over the disconnected digits with disgusting squeals of glee, I somehow found the strength to summon the Castle Pilots Digby and Barnabus and gave them instructions to fly in the Good Doctor Cannibal Spectre to tend to my afflicted appendages.
The Good Doctor inferred on his last visit (having quaffed a full jug of vintage port) that he may try grafting some new fingers onto my withered hand using some 'spares' harvested from the slaves who await their fate in the cells below the Castle kitchens. (After all they won't miss them soon and there's not much meat on their scraggy bones so I surely won't at the coming feast.) And time permitting, I may let him look at my artist slave's condition. He does complain so, the whining wretch!
But I digress....
In the deepest bowels of the Castle, there is a large furnace that is kept at white heat to make the fearsome weapons that the beautiful She'ba tempers on her iron forge
The furnace area is tended by one of my many fine Warrior Maidens, many of whom you have already met. The Warrior Princess Ge'zeabah is impervious to the roaring flames, although the more preceptive of you (who like to zoom in to the bigger picture) may notice that she does come out in a rather fetching sheen when exposed to the heat.
Actually, many of the Castle slaves and soldiers have noticed this lithe and comely maiden of the flames, and I am never short of volunteers to carry the heavy buckets of coal down the many stone stairs to keep the furnace stoked. Some, sadly, never return and their skulls turn up later in the cinders and ashes. But I expect their trip was worthwhile prior to their untimely demise...
When not tending to the furnace, the delightful Ge'zeabah joins the other Warrior Maidens in times of war, battle practice, or simply to disport her finely turned and lissome limbs in simple pursuits, such as Castle Volleyball on the Castle Ward. How I encourage these delightful pastimes!
My apologies, My Friends, I do get distracted at my age. To crave your pardon, I had that truanting slave prepare a picture of the fair Ge'zeaba tending her furnace, and today you may see it! "

Wooohooo.... you promised me chics, flames and skulls and you delivered big time. That flaming pain in your wrist must have been exorcised into this picture because it is totally hot! Amazing fire works, you totally humble me. And her sweating skin is marvelously crafted. But her hair is that of a Goddess, it looks in part like it is feathers... did you paint in some of it? And so well balanced left and right. That is the hands of a master. And the story... well that to is just amazing. You are truely a gentleman and a scholar, and that is the highest accord that I can give. Thank you so much for this awesome dedication.
Heathcroft
Roxy- thanks a lot- yes I painted in some of her hair here and applied dodge and burn too. Also I masked off her hair in Photoshop so when I applied screen and soft layers (which I always do) you don't get that 'ghosting on the fine strands, especially when using gaussian blur on the soft layer.
