Description

Menir What is: Menir, also denominated perafita, it is a prehistoric monument of stone, nailed in the vertical position in the soil (ortóstato), sometimes of very high size (megálito denominated menir). the word menir was adopted, through French, for the archaeologists of the century XIX with base in the words of the Breton meaning men = stone and hir = long (to compare with Gaélico: maen hir = long stone). In the Breton modern the word peulvan is used. In Portuguese he/she is also called perafita, of Latin " petra ficta " (" stone fastens / fixed "). Like how the sky uses the vanishing point printable. Nice use of only showing a few standing and the scattering of smaller stones in the foreground to suggest age.
