Description

Hi - thanks for having a look. DAZ Studio render with some levels adjustment in Photoshop. Second Michael 4 render. This is the "M4 Texture 02" with the same techniques used in the earlier 'Marie' series of renders. Those are actually Marie's eye textures. Face & expression dial spins by your truely. All surfaces feature pwSurface with subsurface scattering and ambient occlusion. Lighting is two uberSpots and two omArealights - I **love** the area light! As always thanks for your comments and critique!

Ok you got it down man. This is making full use of the tools as intended, plus creative. Beautiful realization. He comes alive.

Very nice lighting jog. I love the glow coming through his ear - that's one of the things I always look for in realistic portraits. The only thing I would change is the amount of bump on his lips - they're a tad chapped looking. P

love the light and skin material, but i gotta say this because everyone's commenting on the lips. it's not the bump. that texture, on top of having eyebrow distortion i've only seen sold by brand new merchants, has some of the worst burned in specularity i've ever seen. you've done a marvelous job of working with it, and have hidden better than anyone else i've seen so far, but it's still glaring. if you used Poser, i'd suggest looking up bagginsbill's technique for eliminating burned in specular in a similarly hued texture by FS for V4 (here, Poser forum). you might be able to use it in Photoshop, but i wouldn't know how to do that. it involved hue based transformations.

He is outstanding in his realism. The lips do take away from it though. Well done with him.

I imagine you realism seekers are probably obcessive compulsive. Really though Michael, this is amazing beyond words. Now will you drive south a bit to help me reattach my jaw that just dropped to the floor?

oh lovely portrait! the lights are perfect, Mr Lighting King! You've done an incredible job on his skin. Although it surprised me that they are the same eyes as your Marie portraits - Marie's eyes as you do them are probably the most realistic eyes I've ever seen (it's the one thing I seem to notice a lot), but there's something about Marcus' eyes that still doesn't look quite real (yet Marie had me almost convinced it was a photo!) Can I be you when I grow up? :)

This is extremely well done. Amazing morphs and incredible texture. Since you seem to be a perfectionist, the detail that did not fit the level of the rest of the image (in my view) was the white in the eyes. At least in my monitor looked too bright. But again, this is being too picky...

Dang, I think I said this before somewhere else but....... DAZ finally nailed it with Mikey 4! Things are actually starting to look real for the layman, hobbyist and the like ^_^ No slight against you, as I think you are a master, but I noticed even as I played with Aiko 4, the textures and models have seen marked improvement since Victoria had her problems ironed out! Mike has personality now!
