Description

This would be my first big attempt at a realistic scene. I would like to finish a few minor things on it, but I'm rather happy with it and I've got other ideas I need to move on to! Enjoy!

And a very decent first attempt it is too. Only two things I would suggest on 'realistic' landscapes, is not to forget the atmosphere, so a little distance haze would work wonders here, perhaps another land point jutting out into the sea shrouded in haze. The other being, and it's a mistake a lot of people make, is to give the sea and the sky a similar tint as in reality it would reflect the blue more. You have a very nice 'animated' sea that also looks wet. with balnce in mind, maybe you could lower the horizon to give more sky, or raise it to give more sea. A kind of 'thirds' approach really works well with landscapes in 3D just like it does in photography. I will be following your progress, you have good realisation for landscapes; a big interest of mine.

Nice work indeed! Just need to sort out those volumetric anomolies causing lines on the clouds. Easily done with the clone brush in photoshop.. Also I find if you open up the mat lab, you can select the options to blend the clouds nicely. Just check sky intergration, altitude blend and distance blend.

Very well done, indeed. Looks like a photograph. Just a point for you to consider: don't allow others, under the pretense of 'following your work,' to re-design your intent with your art. Then, it becomes their ideas and no longer your's.
