Description

Halloween, 2018 The parents of the Browns Run Road community had gathered for a meeting at the parents of one of the missing girl's home a few days before Halloween deciding to meet at the old cememtary the eve of Halloween. With no help from the police or the community they had decided to take matters into their own hands in the search for their missing daughters or at least in learning how they had disappeared. They had agreed that since the police had issued warnings that anyone caught walking the road the eve of Halloween would be arrested they would gather and meet at the mausoleum located near the center of the old cemetary at 5:00 pm. The first to arrive were the parents of Cassie Logan, the first girl to disappear that grisly night ten years before. Cassie was only fifteen when she vanished so she would be a young adult if she were still alive. Hank Logan pulled the car up to the drive which circled around the mausoleum and shut the engine off. He looked over at his wife Bonnie who sat in the passenger seat twiddling her thumbs. "You ready sweetheart?" Bonnie nodded yes but she felt her stomach tie up in knots as she spoke. Hank leaned over and kissed her lightly on the cheek saying, "Come on then, let's find our little girl." They walked up to the mausoleum and out of curiosity Hank tried the door. It was locked as he suspected. "I guess we'll just sit here and wait for the others to arrive," he said with a sort of assurance in his voice. Again Bonnie nodded and they sat side by side on the concrete step. It wasn't long before they saw others driving down the road leading to the mausoleum. Among the first of those were the parents of Mindy Sever, Joe and Brenda. Hank didn't much care for Joe as he found him to be more talk then action, always appearing to be Mr. Badass in town but Hank had a gut feeling that told him Joe was nothing more than a bag of hot air. Joe was loud and for the most part a trouble maker always thinking he was right and everyone else wrong. But Hank knew Joe had as much right to be here, as did all the rest, so he was determined to try and keep it sane in the search of their daughters. All in all there were 25 set of parents who showed up. Some were relatives to the missing girls, others just concerned parents and friends to those who were missing thier daughters. They all stood chatting for a bit, making small talk, then it was Joe who decided it was time to find a place deeper into the cemetary where they wouldn't be seen by any police who may enter after dark. With that everyone got back into their cars and Hank led them deeper into the old abandoned cemetary. When he came to the end of the road which was mostly surrounded by trees and overgrown bush, he once again shut his engine off, hearing the other cars shut down one by one behind him and his wife. He climbed out of his car and told Joe to pass the word for everyone to get their flashlights and lanterns from their cars and they would walk the rest of the way. Moments later they were headed in to the woods surrounding the old forgotten tombstones, their destination not planned, just a place where they might begin their search. Some of the women had come dressed in skirts and dresses and were complaining about their pantyhose being torn by the twigs of the tangled shrub over the path they were walking. Joe, in a rather loud, boisterous way said, "Just like a woman, always coming unprepared. I've said it a thousand times if not more, they were put here for one reason and one reason only, to lay on their backs and pleasure a man." He winked at his wife Brenda then said with a snarl, "And even then they can't always get it right." Hank threw him a pathetic look as he took his own wife's hand and led her onward. It wasn't long though before Hank stopped suddenly, not believing what he saw up ahead. He rubbed his eyes to be sure that what he was seeing wasn't some sort of an illusion but after doing so it still loomed over them in the distance, surrounded by large trees and an overgrowth of bushes and shrubs. It was a house, a very old house with chipping paint, shutters that were hanging from only one side and blowing slightly in the mild autumn breeze causing them to make a banging sound that seemed to echo throughout the woods. They all stood there quietly momentarily when Joe said, "What the hell? Who in their right mind would build a house here? And what's it doing in the cemetary? Geeeeeeeeez, I wonder if anyone lives in that thing." For the first time that Hank could recall he was agreeing with Joe. This made absolutely no sense but he was about to find out. He turned to the others saying, " You women stay here until we find out who, if anyone is living there, come on guys, let's go investigate." Joe stood his ground looking at Hank like a crazy man. "Are you out of your mind? This could be someone's private property and the last time I went to school that means we're trespassers, I'm not going up there." Hank looked at him shaking his head. "Do you want to find your daughter or not Joe or do you just want to stand around here and worry about a fine for trespassing?" Joe muttered something under his breath and started walking reluctantly toward the old house in the woods. Hank kissed his wife and followed with the rest of the men. ~~~~~~~~~~To Be Continued~~~~~~~~~~~~ I made an image to go with this story but I don't know how to add it to this box. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I'd just post the picture on it's own as an upload... In future pictures, you might want to type your story out and overlay it onto a page where a picture sets up top of the page... some ideas. Great stroy again and the cut off for the first page was perfect.... Some of your words about women, my Brother talks that way - it's a trip when you think about it, because my Mother raised us with out a Father... I remember my Mom saying to him from time to time, I didn't raise you that way - where are you getting this from. lol
