Description
This is my Dad. Or rather was my Dad. He's dead now. Cancer again.
He was my hero throughout my life. He taught me everything about Aircraft. He showed things, he took me to places. He brought me books when I was young.
This man knew he was seriously ill when my Mum was dying of Cancer but didn't go to the doctors because he didn't want to worry her. By the time she died, it was too late. This was the last picture taken of my Hero.....
I thank God I knew him.
Sorry about that. Explains a bit. By the way that's Deb taking the Photo (She already had Cancer!). And, yep! That's me in the doorway. And no, I'm not wearing a thong!
Thanks,
Rob.

My father is still alive. He got cancer in 1975 but by 1982 he had gotten the surgeries that cleared it up. The joke I tell about him is that most men have six inches but he has half a foot. He continues to drive with it.

Good to meet your dad! You have a great deal to be thankful for having a dad who put you and your mom ahead of his own welfare. Thanks for sharing this with all of us. Bill P.S. Like your new avatar...lookin' good. I have developed a little folder of avatars (past, present, future),...in my opinion, it is refreshing to change periodically.

Never be sorry mate. My dad was the same when I was a kid and have him to thank for my love of classic cars and aviation. Lost him when I was 22. This is a fine tribute to your dad Rob.
