A beautiful capture. The backlighting provides just the right atmosphere for this vulture...I've never been this close to one before :-) Welcome to Renderosity...you'll really enjoy it. Oh, and your English is far better than my German...even after living in Ansbach and Stuttgart for 3 1/2 years a long time ago. Bill

This is either a chick or a different vulture than the two sorts we have here. Thanks for the good closeup of the neat bird.

Wonderful portrait!

Thank you all so much!!! I am so happy that my picture pleasures you!! Bill, I have had the advantage of learning English in school for 9 years. Although I'm afraid I forgot a lot of things already... Tom, this is no chick, it's an adult one. I think you call that sort of vulture a griffon vulture or Eurasian griffon. I will upload more pictures as soon as possible, so stay tuned ;o)! Faralis

Excellent pic! I look forward to much more from you!

Backlighting: That was a good choice. The feathers stand out, the vulture's head has more apparent depth than conventional lighting would give it, and the shadowed face gives the photo a very distinct mood. Well done, and I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work.
