This image is truly a picture of the Grand Canyon. It's also truly a 3D computer generated image. "WHAT?!" you say? Well I used DEMs. Digital Elevation Maps from gisdatadepot.com.

The mood is great, also the sky, but the mountains are too red for my opinion.
