Description
Fall colors are coming on fast at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Best viewed full-size.
This lake is in the middle of the old Army post. It has had many uses...water basin, fishing pond and during both World Wars, army engineers trained here to build all sorts of bridges.
Today, the park-like appearance comes from the fact that it is next to the post's golf course.

Sublime! Much of my family is from Kansas so I have a few old black and white photos from early 1900's. Have nothing in color so I enjoyed seeing this, very beautiful scenery! (Lynn)

LOL - Might have tried throwing a golf ball in front of the lens. LOL I saw this and thought it was so well maintained here that it ought to be a golf course. Gorgeous view and excellent capture of it.
