Description

Serena's human companion has died. A simple plaque has been let into the floor of the chapel to commemorate his life. Death comes to all humans ... but what about our robots and androids? You give a human a robot or android companion to work for them, live with them and share their lives - and give the companion the ability to feel emotions and grow fond of their human. Fine. But humans age and die, while a well-built robot will last long enough to outlive its human companion. So - is it fair to let them feel emotions, when they will see their human companions age and fade away, leaving them alone and lonely? Without emotions they could simply get themselves a new companion. Can robot hearts break?

An interesting Question Shaun, and a lovely image to support it. However, as fragile as we humans are, I have yet to see any mechanical creation last as long as we do! Maybe in the future we will learn how to eliminate "Planned Obsolescence"! ;)

After viewing many of your robots/androids in various actions and situations, I believe their hearts can break. You do imbue a great deal of humanity in your mechanical creations.
